Mosaic Vines
This nature-inspired mosaic shawl is only worked with one color at a time. The color shifts come from the sample using a mini-skein set plus a solid color. The dark & light reversal of colors means that it uses approximately the same amount of the dark and the light colors.
This asymmetrical shawl begins with an i-cord cast on and maintains i-cord along the knit edges. The curved triangular shape comes from decreasing on one side of the shawl every other row and increasing on the other side of the shawl on every row. It is finished off with an i-cord bind off.
Materials:
~150g fingering weight yarn in Color A (dark)
~150g fingering weight yarn in Color B (light)
The sample used:
Color A: Riverside Studios Supersock (80% merino/20% nylon, 383yds/350 m per 100g skein) – 2 skeins Graphite (about 150g / 575yds/526m used)
Color B: Riverside Studios Quintet on Supersock in Bud (80% merino/20% nylon, 5 x 30g skeins, 115 yds/105 m per 30g skein) in Bud (total 575 yds/526 m)
The picture of the shawl hanging on a fence uses exactly the same colours as the original sample, but with the Quintet set worked in the other direction.
