The Mosswood Poncho is a quick-knit pattern that is perfect for easy layering in cool weather. The front features bold cables and crochet bobbles running up the center on a reverse stockinette background and a simple ribbing and slip stitch edging on the sides. The back is solid reverse stockinette. After the shoulders are seamed, a large, cozy hood is knit featuring reverse stockinette and the same ribbing and slip stitch edging. Knit up in Berroco Mercado, an affordable aran weight yarn, available in a variety of earthy shades. Mosswood is the perfect project for knitting and styling in the winter months!

Gauge:
• 14 sts and 19 rows over 4” / 10 cm in stockinette st worked flat, blocked
Needles:
•Size 9 (5.5 mm) 32-40” / 81.5-101.5 cm circular needles or size needed to obtain gauge, and additional needles of the same size for the three needle bind off

Construction:
The front and back of the Mosswood Poncho are knit separately and feature some short rows for shoulder shaping. The shoulders are seamed together while the sides remain open. Hood stitches are picked up around the neckline and the hood is worked flat with increases and decreases for shaping. The remaining hood stitches are seamed together with a three needle bind off.
