NOTES

Motz socks are ankle socks that are knitted from the toe up. They have a long, rounded toe, followed by a stretchy pattern on the instep, while the sole is knitted in stockinette stitch. They have a heel flap that, when knitted from bottom to top, does not involve picking up stitches. The socks have a hem finish with a small flap at the back.

The instructions are provided for circular needles in magic loop but can be easily adapted to double-pointed needles. Choose a size with a circumference 1-2 cm smaller than the circumference ofyour foot (negative ease).

You should be familiar with Judy’s Magic Cast-on, German short rows, and Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind-off
