These 2-sided mats are knit seamlessly using stranded colorwork and a couple of little tricks.

Skills required
Long-tail cast-on
Knitting into the front and the back of stitch
Stranded knitting
Three-needle bind-off

Materials
Approximately 50-55 yards of non-superwash worsted-weight wool yarn for each mat - 10 yards of motif color, 40 yards of background color for Lone Pine; 15 yards of motif color, 40 yards of background color for Quiet Woods and Snowfall; 30 yards of edging color, 25 yards of second color for Buffalo Mountain Plaid
Two US 7/4.5 mm circular needles or size needed to obtain gauge. 16” or 24” cables work well

For best results, use a non-superwash wool. Slippery yarns will be more likely to grow lengthwise and colorwork is more cohesive in wooly wool.

Colorwork is charted only.
