Mountaindale
Mountaindale is a triangular shawl featuring squishy Garter Stitch and some simple intarsia to keep things interesting. Top down construction and worsted weight yarn make this a pattern that will knit up quickly. A sewn bind off lends a clean edge and tassels (optional but recommended!) add a funky touch.
The sample was knit using Julie Asselin’s Nurtured. This is a worsted weight blend of Rambouillet, Targhee, and Merino. I discovered this yarn at the first annual fiber fest at Tangerini’s farm this past September. I couldn’t decide on one color so I picked four! (You can read the story of how this yarn was created here: link text
This shawl is named for the Mountaindale area of Smithfield, RI. While I was working on this I kept thinking about one of my family’s favorite walking spots which is in Mountaindale. I think this shawl is about as pretty as that spot.
