NOTES
- Chain 1 worked at end of star creates an “eye” that will be worked into during next stitch and next row.
- To change color, work to last yarnover in old color, pick up new color, and complete stitch with new color.
- Carry yarn up side as work progresses.
- To secure the carried yarn on scalloped edge of front flap, after changing color, hold original color on the wrong side (WS) and work over it for the first few stitches.
- Straps can be made in various lengths. To determine length of nylon strap needed, after crocheting and assembling body of bag, pin one end of nylon strap to side panel of bag so that strap overlaps by 2 inches. Drape strap over your shoulder and across your chest. Pin strap to front side panel of bag at a length that feels comfortable. Place a pin on front end of strap 2” down from top edge of bag to mark. Measure strap to your pin marker to get total strap length.
