Mulberry summer top or dress
About the pattern
This is a beginner Tunisian crochet pattern for a summer top or dress with a simple lace bottom that flares out for a playful and relaxed fit.
It is worked bottom-up for the straps, in a front and back panel, then the skirt portion is added, in a variable length.
The two pieces are seamed and the armholes and neckband are finished off after seaming. Optionally, the skirt part can be worked in the round with a double ended hook.
The pattern is written out for all 12 sizes and includes ease.
You will choose a size based on the finished garment measurements and follow only the instructions for that size.
The pattern is written to be worked with two identical gradient cakes of 4-stranded yarn. You can get custom gradient cakes in the required size for your desired length. The gradients for the samples shown are available from SparWolle.
What you get
There are 3 files included in your purchase.
- One file has all the instructions and other details. It includes schematics and photo tutorials. The instructions are print-friendly.
- One file is the easy read or low vision version of this. Images have captions. All the text is large and easy to read, including the tables with measurements (see below for exact specifications).
- A guide for improving the fit of your garments that you can use for other patterns as well.
Measurements
The pattern comes with 12 fully written sizes, ranging in bust between 88-180 cm or 35.25-72”. Recommended ease 0-10 cm or 0-4”.
You can easily customize the length of the body by making more rows. You can make a tank top or dress.
The straps can be made wider for better support. You will find notes in the pattern about this.
The measurements in the tables attached (see images) are garment measurements and they should all be larger than your body measurements at the same points.
Skill level
Beginner - you will work mainly with the Tunisian simple stitch, decreases and yarn overs for the lace section.
The lace section is simple and can be replaced with simple stitches for a pain fabric. Instructions are included.
