These angels carry a lute, a harp, a trumpet and a drum. Knit them as standing ornaments or hang them from your Christmas tree.

We’ve made the angels small and simple so that you can knit several without it becoming tedious.

Choose between a plain dress or a design woven with ribbons, knit up the figures in your favourite colour scheme and then add instruments to create a miniature orchestra.

Stitches used: kfb, k2tog, p2tog, yfwd, sl1k1psso

You will need:
• Wool in your chosen colours, max 20g per figure. I used Double Knit (8-6 ply, “light worsted”.) Tension square: 10cm x 10cm square is 24 stitches across and 32 rows.
• Knitting needles – I used UK size 11 (3.0mm, US size 2.5)
• Tapestry needle
• Small amounts of wool to embroider faces
• Stuffing
• Black thread
• Stitch-holder / safety-pin / spare needle
