In Norse mythology, the entire universe began with two worlds: frozen and poisonous Niflheim to the north, and Muspelheim, a world of fire to the south. The ice from Niflheim mixed with the fires of Muspelheim in the space between them, Ginnungagap, and began the process of life.

When I first saw the “Heat Miser” yarn from Leviathan Fibres, I knew I wanted to create something based on the fires of Muspelheim, and this scarf pattern was born. While you can use any yarn you choose, the pattern was designed to be used specifically with these colorways from Leviathan, and will look best in those colors.
