This classic little cardigan has “I am a grownup”
written all over it. It has everything you want
for a kid’s sweater: comfort to move little arms,
softness, warmth, and, of course, pockets.
The cardi is worked in one piece up to armholes
in rows beginning at lower edge.
Different cables are running on the back,
front and sleeves. The tall ribbing on
the sleeves is added for functionality to
accommodate the needed length. Sleeves
are worked in the round to armhole. At
this point sleeves are joined with Front and
Back and raglan shaping begins. Shawl
collar is shaped with German short rows at
the neckline. Although for most it does not
matter which side is used for buttons, this
pattern provides buttonhole band directions
for both left and right side of front separately.
