These shorts have been a long-standing dream of ours, and the result is so close to perfection that we’re still amazed at how they can be both so striking and so comfortable to wear. These high-waisted Myssy Shorts sit well and land beautifully.

Myssy Shorts are worked bottom up. The legs are worked one at a time in the round and then flat in rows when the crotch section is shaped with short rows. Once the legs are joined on one circular needle for working the upper part, the crotch stitches are placed on hold to be worked later. The upper part is worked in the round while shaping the sides and the back. The upper back is shaped higher than the front for a proper fit. In the end, the crotch sts are joined using the 3-needle bind-off method.

YARN: Aalto by Virtain, DK Finnsheep Yarn 100g, 2-ply (100% Finnsheep Wool) 240 m/100 g
3 (3, 3, 4) 4 skeins or 546 (618, 697, 785) 879 m

NEEDLES: Circular needle 4 mm, 80-100 cm; circular needle 3 mm, 80-100 cm for the folded edges of the waist and the legs. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

GAUGE: 19 sts x 32 rnds = 10 x 10 cm over Stockinette Stitch in the round with 4 mm needles (after blocking).

OTHER: 3 stitch markers, waste yarn, one 3.0 mm double-pointed needle, elastic waist band, tapestry needle, fabric tag, wooden tag, yarn and sewing needle.
