Nantucket Pink Climber
This shawl is knit in one piece from corner
to corner with mock cables and an
optional I-cord bind off edge or
crochet edge.
I was inspired by the climbing roses that adorn
the trellises in Sconset, Nantucket. When
these flowers are in full bloom, they are just
spectacular. When they begin to peter out,
the bottom ones turn pale while the top ones
continue to be vibrant. Every summer, they are
a joy to visit.
These tiny cables don’t need a cable needle at
all! They are easy, quick and fun to knit.
The pattern can also easily be done in one or two yarns and not have the hombre effect.
