Native American-Inspired Baby Cocoon
Native American-Inspired Afghan and Cocoon, #813.
Traditional Native American-Inspired themes are created using just single and double crochet stitches. One of the things I like about this design is that you do not change colors in the middle of the rnd--all changes are made at beginning of rnd (i.e. you will alternate rnd colors, one rnd turquoise, then one rnd dark turquoise, then one rnd coral, etc)--easy peasy! Included are instructions to make a baby cocoon swaddler from baby yarn (fits newborn to 3 mos). (Also included in booklet are instructions to make an adult and baby size afghan!) See my website for a video how-to on how to make the dropped dc stitch which forms the design…similar in technique to classic vintage Navajo afghans.
Cocoon (Approx. 18” x 19”; fits newborn to 3 months)
