GAUGE
18 sts x 20 rows = 4” / 10 cm blocked and laid flat. Following the stitch pattern of Row 1-10.
CONSTRUCTION
This beanie is worked flat in turned rows. The textured stitch pattern is an easy-to-follow 10 row repeat. Short rows are used to create a skewed rectangle for crown shaping and light tapering at the bottom. The first and last rows are seamed together and then you will close up the top. Block and dry and it’s ready to wear!
SIZING + FIT
This pattern is graded to 5 sizes, size (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) / (Baby, Toddler, Youth, Adult, Adult +), intended to fit circumference (14-16, 16-18, 18-20, 20-22, 22-24)” / (35.5-40.5, 40.5-45.5, 45.5-51, 51-56, 56-61) cm. Ease for all sizes is -2” to -4” / -5 to -10 cm. Know that you may lose up to .5” / 1cm in length due to stretch when worn. If you are in between sizes and prefer a tighter beanie, size down. If you prefer a looser beanie, size up. Keep in mind the beanie may stretch after wear. If you choose to use a yarn that does not grow with blocking (ex: acrylic) consider sizing up.
STYLES
This pattern is graded for 2 lengths and an optional folded brim available for each. The lengths are short and long - the short length creates a fitted beanie style, while the long length provides extra room on top.
MEASUREMENTS
Measurements are written for size (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) and are blocked and laid flat.
