Immerse yourself in the world of bees. This wrap was inspired by my love and fascination of pollinators, particularly honeybees. As a hobbyist beekeeper, I tend 3 hives and plant as many native trees and wildflowers as I can. Much like knitting, there is always more to learn in the world of bees. In this wrap, forager bees emerge from the hive in search of resources needed for a growing colony. Drifts of different wildflowers are anchored by honeycomb and provide their staple foods of nectar and pollen. Choose colors of spring or fall vegetation for this interesting and engaging wrap.

Nectar Flow is a rectangular shawl with slightly pointed tips. It is knit from the center out beginning with two texture patterned triangles. Chevron wings are added to each right and left side with lace floral motifs anchored by a honeycomb pattern.

Written instructions as well as charts are included.

• Length: 80”/200 cm at center points and 70”/175 cm along outer edges

Miss Babs Yummy 2 ply 100% superwash
Merino wool; 400 yd/3.9 oz (365m/110 g) skeins.
1 skein of main color (MC), shown in Blackwatch
1 skein of first contrast color (CC1), shown in
Tuscan Sun
1 skein of second contrast color (CC2), shown in
Cygnus
1 skein of third contrast color (CC3), shown in
Curcuma
Or approximately 400 yards/365 meters in main
color and 400 yards/365 meters each in three
contrasting colors of fingering weight yarn.

Needles
Two sets of US 4 3.5 mm circular needle 32”/80
cm long, or size to obtain gauge
One US 3 3.25 mm circular needle 32”/80 cm
long, or one size smaller than needle used to
obtain gauge
One US 5 3.75mm circular needle 32”/80 cm, or
one size larger than needle used to obtain gauge

Gauge
Blocked: 21 stitches and 26 rows = 4”/10 cm
in stockinette stitch.
Gauge is not critical for this project but will
affect yardage and finished size if different
from above.

Notions
• 2 locking stitch markers
• Ringstyle stitch markers (two distinct types for
markers A and B)
• Stitch holders or waste yarn to hold stitches
• Tapestry needle
