DETAILS
This beret came about from a request made by a client.
She asked me if I could knit her a beret with cat ears, and I couldn’t believe I hadn’t made anything like that before.
I wanted to create something simple and cute, perfect for beginners.
CONSTRUCTION
Worked from the bottom up in the round.
The brim is worked in 3cm / 1¼″ of ribbing, followed by 3cm / 1¼″ of stockinette. A fold is created by picking up stitches from the cast-on edge, where you can optionally insert elastic.
With a different color, a few rounds are worked in stockinette stitch, followed by a lace section and a fold to create a small picot detail.
Increases are made, and the beret continues in stockinette stitch with the main color. Simple decreases are worked until the beret is closed with a small I-cord.
The ears are knitted using the intarsia in the round technique and sewn onto the beret. Optional bows can be added, made from an I-cord.

DETALLES
