For size small (large), approximately 350 (445) yards/325 (415) meters fingering weight yarn, split between five colors and hat/mitts as follows:

• Hat: 200 (275) yards/185 (255) meters total, split between 160 (235) yards/145 (215) meters main color and 10 yards/10 meters in each of four contrast colors.
• Mitts: 150 (170) yards/140 (160) meters total, split between 110 (130) yards/100 (120) meters main color and 10 yards/10 meters in each of four contrast colors.

Shown in white: Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light in color Farmhouse White (mc) & Madelinetosh Unicorn Tails in colors Purple Basil, Cousteau, Button Jar Blue, and Edison Bulb.

Shown in gray: Knitted Wit Victory Sock in color Silver Lining (mc) & Knitted Wit Smarties in colors Genteel, Key Lime Pie, Royal, and Haute Pink.

NEEDLES
US #3/3.25mm (or size you need to get gauge):

• 16”/40 cm circular AND
• double points (for crown) AND
• 16”/40 cm circular in one size larger (for stranded colorwork)

NOTIONS
Stitch marker, tapestry needle, stitch holder or scrap yarn for mitts.

GAUGE
26 sts = 4”/10 cm in stockinette stitch after blocking

Page 4, Hat, Crown. Error - Rounds 1, 13, and 16 had wrong number of sts left at end of round. (Rounds 1 & 13 wrong for small, Round 16 wrong for large.)
Page 5, Mitts, Wrist/Chart. Error - Both small and large should end by working last 4 sts of Chart B.
Page 5, Mitts, Thumb Gusset, Round 1, Left Mitt. Error - Size large should end with k3.
Page 5, Mitts, Thumb Gusset, Rounds 4-15 17. Error - Size large should increase until round 19 (not 17). Also, ending st count wrong for both sizes: should be 60 72 sts total at end of round.
Page 6, Mitts, Thumb, Rounds 1. Error - Size large should work 9 sts between the k2togs, however this isn’t critical.
