We are delighted to introduce the beautiful ‘Nesbyen Socks’ by our talented SWW Patron, Linda Shearer Hamari Designs which are suggested in two lengths and two beautiful colourways.

There have always been strong connections between Shetland and Norway, and one of them is knitting. When Linda was growing up, her mother knitted what she called ‘Norwegian’ style ganseys, where the body and sleeves were a continued spotty design and there was a big starry pattern on the chest. Here Linda has reimagined her mother’s Norwegian-style ganseys into starry, dotted socks. She named them Nesbyen socks after a beautiful little town in the mountains between Bergen and Oslo, where she was made very welcome when she visited as part of a knitting and music group in 2018.

Linda has written the pattern for two different lengths – calf and knee-high.

Knit in Jamieson & Smith Shetland Wool Brokers in lovely jewel or blue shades.
