Nessa Socks
An entrelac sock with an unusual construction, Nessa begins with a standard cuff-down construction, but then becomes something completely different once the heel flap is complete.
Skill Level: Intermediate to Advanced. The entrelac makes the pattern a bit tricky, and the unusual construction adds a bit to the confusion. It’s not difficult knitting, but an understanding of sock construction helps and a careful reading of the pattern will be necessary.
Yarn: The yarn requirements for this sock are higher than usual. I strongly recommend getting more yardage than you anticipate for this sock. A self-striping would take best advantage of the entrelac stitch.
Photos show a size Large, knit in Twisted Fiber Arts Self-Striping Tasty Yarn, in the colorway “Totally.” Knitting these socks up required a total of 2 skeins.
