From Ann Kingstone’s “Lace Knits” book:
Stockinette stitch and lace have been paired to create an elegant wrap that can be worn daily or special occasions. The solid stockinette stitch offers practical warmth while the lace adds the feminine beauty.

This shawl is knit as one piece from the top down by casting on the stitch count for the shoulder width and edge, then using short rows to create the partial-circle shape. Increases are then added for the feather and fan border.

Finished dimensions:
The completed crescent shawl measures approximately 33cm (13 inches) deep at the deepest point, and 123cm (48 inches) wide at the top edge (measured straight).
