Inspired by a vintage ski-sweater, this simple colourwork sweater has been updated with modern finishings and a flattering blouse-type shape. The sweater is worked from the top down, starting with the back neck and shoulders and knitting the back yoke, you will then pick up the shoulder stitches and knit the front yoke, whilst shaping the neckline using short rows. The body is then worked in the round, making gradual waist decreases to give it a tapered shape and cropped to just below the waistline. The dropped shoulders are picked up and the sleeves are knitted in the round, again with gradual visible decreases along the top ‘seam’ and gathered into bracelet-length cuffs. Knits up quickly in Aran-weight yarn. Chose to make it in 2 or 3 colours.
NOTE: Since the front and back yokes are knit flat, this means you will have to do the colourwork on the yokes on the purl side as well as the knit side.
