A new sunrise brightens the day as rays of light flare outward. Semi-circular bands of eyelets in the garter stitch center of this shawl transition to zigzagging lace lines.

New Day Rising is an easy, satisfying project for beginning and experienced lace knitters alike. Instructions for two sizes are included.

A note about yarn:
New Day Rising has straightforward patterning and a stitch count that increases every row. Consider using most solid, semi-solid, variegated, or gradient yarns to great effect.

Knitters may experiment with using a lighter or heavier weight yarn and a different needle size to adjust the size of the shawl. Please note that changing the size of the shawl will affect the amount of yarn needed.

Gauge is not critical for this pattern, but using a different yarn weight or needle size will affect the size of the finished project.

Instructions are both written and charted.
