New Day Socks
New Day Socks were cast on quietly, on January first, as rain traced slow paths down the window. From my knitting chair, I watched the desert soften, dust washed away, the air newly clear, the old year gently carried off with every drop.
The stitches followed the mood. Clean lines of a twisted rib cuff, steady and grounding. Tiny bobbles bloom across the fabric like small moments of joy, their simple trails echoing rain slipping down glass. Nothing hurried. Just the comfort of making, stitch by stitch.
As the heel turns, the rain eases. Light begins to break through the clouds, soft and unannounced. The kind of light that doesn’t demand attention, only promises a new beginning.
New Day Socks is a reflection of that moment: peaceful, hopeful, and open-ended. A reminder that fresh starts don’t need fanfare. Sometimes they arrive quietly, wrapped in wool, with brighter days waiting just ahead.
This pattern includes written instructions as well as a chart for the texture.

SIZE NOTE: sizes can be customized by changing needle/gauge. For instance, I personally knit 64 stitch socks on a 2.25mm for a tighter gauge that fits me better. Instructions are included for selecting your size.
YARDAGE NOTE: Socks vary extremely from person to person so yardage is really just a guesstimate. Allow extra if you are unsure.
