Cardigan with lace-stitch border, horizontal yokes in front and back, a decorative edging along hemline and cuffs and optional pocket(s). Knit to hip-length as shown, or tunic length.
Like Old Town in construction, New Old Town is worked in one piece from the top down beginning with a provisional cast on and proceeding in a modular fashion. Sleeves are worked flat and seamed, but could be easily modified to work in the round. Edging on sleeves and hem is a continuation of the border and is worked similarly to attached I-cord. Pocket(s) worked separately and sewn in place. Easy short rows shape shoulders. (here’s a link to the popular wrapless short row method that I devised in 2009): http://www.sundayknits.com/techniques/shortrows.html
