Need a quick knit for gifting or maybe you just want to take a break from a long-on-the-needles WIP? The New York Minute Cowl is made from just one hank of Knit Collage’s Pixie Dust (I picked this up at Vogue Knitting Live in New York two weeks ago). This yarn (here, in Dark Sapphire) is the most exaggerated example of thick-and-thin spun fiber that I’ve ever seen. And though I was tempted to just coil the hank as is around my neck and call it my New York Minute fashion statement, I put in an extra 19 minutes to work up an amazingly chunky, slightly sparkly (1% angelina) convertible cowl with two wearing options. All done before I even left to catch my flight home from VK Live.

Perhaps best of all, there’s no gauge to worry about and no needles required!
