Nimble
I dreamed up this pattern trying to make a pattern that was good for teaching cables, while also being interesting to intermediate and experienced knitters. This pattern uses a variety of cables, beginning with the simplest and moving into more complex variations. Some of the cables are classic and some are out of my own head. Each section introduces one new technique, and can be worked until mastered. The cables will flow into one another beautifully regardless of the exact number of repeats, allowing the knitter to practice until comfortable.
Both charts and written instructions are included.
NB: Although this is a project designed for first time cablers, it is intended to be used in conjunction with other teaching materials (e.g. a class, book, or online tutorial) and contains no instructions on How-To-Cable.
One skein will make a neckwarmer, while 2 skeins will make a modest length scarf.
Notions: cable needle, tapestry needle, 1.5 inch button or cuff links
Others are welcome to use this pattern for a class, as long as I receive desginer credit and a pattern in purchased for each student. Wholesale and hardcopies available.
