Nina Shawl
by Phyllis Howe
Pattern description from Mason-Dixon Knitting: “Named for Phyllis’s daughter, Nina provides the perfect framework to play with color. the rules are strict: Follow the stripe pattern, don’t forget the checkerboard, and pay attention to how your colors contrast and complement. But beyond that, this handknit can morph from a cotton shawl to a mohair throw to a tweedy wrap.”

- Provence by Classic Elite, 3.5 oz (100 g) hanks, each approx 205 yds (185 m), mercerized cotton A: hot pink 2 hanks; B: black 2 hanks; C: celadon 1 hank; D: orange 2 hanks
- A DK weight wool or wool blend can easily be substituted
- Size 6 (4 mm) needles or size needed to achieve gauge
