Nina's Blanket
This striking unisex blanket is the perfect project for the special baby in your life. Plush ribbed borders provide the perfect backdrop for the graphic herringbone pattern that is worked in a simple slip-stitch pattern using only one color at a time. Choose two solid colors to highlight the modern feel of this blanket.
The bottom border, body, and top border of the blanket are worked flat in one piece in a DK-weight yarn. Each of the side borders are then picked up and knit. The blanket is shown in the carriage blanket size and the pattern also includes a lap throw size. To make a larger blanket, simply add additional repeats of the herringbone pattern and work until the blanket is your desired length.
The second-to-last photo shows the WS of the blanket to illustrate the back side of the herringbone pattern and the cleanly finished edge that is produced by slipping the pattern stitches!
I’ve also included a black & white version of one of the pattern photos to illustrate how great this blanket looks in a unisex palette like grey and white!
