This pattern is for a pair of ornately cabled socks. The cable itself is a Canadian cable that is just perfect for socks, that comes to us from the creative mind of Annie Maloney. The focal intricate cable has enough “give” to make the socks comfortable: they will hug your ankle/leg without being too tight. The unusual cabling makes them interesting to look at and fun to knit. The back and front are the same until the heel flap.

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of knitting and purling, and cabling).

The cable stitch is charted only

This pattern is written for 2 circular needles and is written for sizes Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large, and is sized by gauge (if you want to adjust your size from M, be sure to adjust your yarn so it matches your new needle size). MOST women wear socks in size M (shoe size 6 - 9)

The sock pictured here was made with Malabrigo’s Ultimate sock Yarn in colorway, Sabiduria.

The socks were expertly test knitted by Kim Moran, who can be reached at: troopleaderkim@yahoo.com
