Niubó is a very fun knit, a sweater with a few details that make it irresistible. Its construction is not the most common, however, it is one of the most flattering since it enhances the shoulder and adjusts to the body in a very ergonomic way.
With this project you will surely learn as many things as I learned: intarsia, hammer sleeves, stranded colourwork, buttonholes, i-cord bind off… I haven’t had this much fun knitting in a while!
I have named the sweater Niubó in reference to Raquel and David, owners of the Mas Niubó livestock farm, the first one with which I started sourcing fleeces of for the production of my yarn brand. Niubó literally means “Good Nest” and it sounds like pure poetry to me.

GAUGE

• 24 sts x 34 rnds to 10 cm / 4” on Needle A in stockinette stitch, both back and forth and in the round, after blocking.

NEEDLES
* Needle A: (Main needle: St st: Yoke, body and sleeves)*
One 80 cm / 32” needle in size needed to obtain st st gauge listed.
Suggested needle: 3.5 mm / US 4.
! Make sure the tension is the same knitting back and forth and in circular knitting. If not, change the needle to obtain the correct gauge.

Niubó es un jersey muy divertido de tejer con unos cuantos detalles que lo hacen irresistible. Su construcción no es la más común, sin embargo, es una de las más favorecedoras ya que realza el hombro y se ajusta al cuerpo de una manera muy ergonómica.

Con este proyecto seguramente vas a aprender tantas cosas como aprendí yo: intarsia, mangas martillo, stranded colorwork, ojales, cierre de cordoncillo… Aquí hay de todo. ¡Hacía tiempo que no lo pasaba tan bien tejiendo!

Lo he llamado Niubó en referencia a Raquel y David, propietarios de la ganadería Mas Niubó, la primera con la que comencé a trabajar para la producción de mi marca de hilados. Niubó significa literalmente “Buen Nido” y me parece que suena como pura poesía.

AGUJAS

• Aguja A: (Punto liso, tejido principal. Canesú, cuerpo y mangas)* Aguja circular de 80 cm / 32” del número necesario para conseguir la muestra de tensión en punto liso. Aguja sugerida: 3.5 mm / US 4. ! Asegúrate de que la tensión es la misma en plano y en circular. Si no, cambia de aguja para conseguir la tensión correcta.
• Aguja B: (Colorwork: Motivo del cuerpo) Aguja circular de 80 cm / 32” del número necesario para conseguir la muestra de tensión en colorwork. Aguja sugerida: 3.75 mm / US 5.
