No. 1 Pullover
PATTERN NOTES
Featuring lovely drape, a flattering shape, and soothing stitch patterns, this sweater will have you completely smitten. This pullover pairs a sollid color of Bamboo Pop with stripes of vibrant, self-shading Bamboo Pop multi for an electrifying effect. The color changes are especially striking along the edges, which are neatly trimmed with an I-cord bind-off. Worked flat in pieces, the seams provide structure to this garment and ensure its durability for years to come.
SEWING PATTERN NOTES
To pair with this oversized sweater, I decided to shine a light on the maxi skirt trend I’ve been seeing quite a lot of lately. I’ve used McCall’s M7631 in view D. The pattern comes with skirts in three lengths: Mini, midi, and maxi. It uses pleats in both front and back and has a zipper closure in back.
The pattern envelope recommends velveteen, wool blends, velvet, or sateen, but I chose a chambray slub fabric for breathability. Really, any variety of woven fabric would be suitable for this pattern depending on the season you’re planning to wear it in.
I could have played off the brightly colored stripes in the Bamboo Pop multi and chosen red, purple, or green for the fabric. But instead, I opted to let the bright pops in the yarn shine, and chose a relative matching gray for the skirt.
