DESCRIPTION
The No Slip Stitch Given Beanie is designed for those of us who have a love-hate relationship with slip stitches. Do you love the faux-knit look that the slip stitch pattern creates, but hate how long it takes to work up? Me too! So, I came up with this effortless beanie design which works up quickly and hassle-free, like you just don’t give a slip stitch!
The pattern works up great in a single color, multiple colors for a striped effect, or you can even use a gradient or self-striping yarn like some of my testers did with great results!
Make it longer or shorter, with stripes or a single color, wear it with or without a folded brim – this classic beanie design will be your go-to accessory for years to come. It comes in five sizes and it’s super easy to customize, making it the ideal gift for friends and family!
Like all CrochetHighway patterns, this intermediate pattern has you covered with step-by-step instructions, tutorial photos and videos for the trickier parts of the pattern. The Row Tracker will come in handy to take note of your progress and stitch counts.
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Beanie circumference: 8 (10.75, 13.25) (16, 18.75) inches or 20 (27, 34) (41, 48) cm
The pattern is written for 5 sizes, from preemie to adult. The beanie is designed to be worn with 1 to 4 inches or 2.5 to 10 cm of negative ease. During the testing process, it was determined that the yarn you’re using plays an important role in how stretchy the fabric will be. Depending on this, you may need to work more rows in order to achieve the perfect circumference. The pattern guides you on how to modify the beanie in order to achieve the perfect fit!
Each of the 5 sizes can be made in 2 different lengths. The longer version is intended to be worn with a tall, folded brim, and the short version may be worn with or without a folded brim. The beanie is worked from side to side using a combination of short and long rows to shape the crown and reduce the bulk at the top. After completing the main body of the beanie, the first and last rows are seamed together.
