Nóatún

Thank you to the mods and all the test knitters - your help has been wonderful.
This pattern is written for a cuff down sock with a heel flap in one size. By using smaller or larger needles it can be adjusted for different sizes. The rib in the leg is worked with 64 sts, the stranded sock is knitted with 72 sts.
50 grams of each colour is enough for the leg length shown in the photo and fraternal socks. If you want a matching pair more yarn might be needed in the main colour.
This pattern was inspired by the classic Scandinavian fishermen’s sweaters, but with an added twist.
Nóatún is the place where the Norse God Njord lived. Njord is the god of wind and water in Norse mythology, and is the patron of sailors and fishermen. He also brought wealth to the just and deserving. Despite being a part of Norse mythology Njord was not one of the Aesir gods - he does belong to the Vanirs.
