This sweater is worked in the round from the bottom up. Work body up to the underarm, then set aside to work the sleeves. Once you have finished the body and sleeves, you are ready to start the yoke by knitting the live stitches of one sleeve, the front of the sweater, the live stitches of the second sleeve, and the back of the sweater. The underarm stitches remain on hold and will be sewn closed when you have finished with the yoke colorwork and decreases.

Gently, lilac dusk descends over the budding trees as migratory birds settle into their carefully woven nests. The evening is balmy and a warm breeze rustles the freshly sprung apple blossoms. Petals drift on the wind, fluttering to the ground. Fairy lights are hung across tree branches, candles flicker on decks, illuminating the shadows and calling gently to the nocturnal moths. All the night waking animals are drawn from their hidden spaces. All come out, all join, to welcome spring’s arrival.
