ABOUT THE PATTERN

The Nogueira Sweater was inspired by a small neighborhood in the city of Petropolis, in the mountains of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The cooler temperatures and abundant nature of the place make this neighborhood a very popular weekend destination during Brazil’s fall and winter months.

Needles
• US 5 3.75 mm circular needle, 32”/80 cm long or size to obtain gauge
• US 5 3.75 mm double-pointed needles, or size to obtain gauge
• US 3 3.25 mm double-pointed needles, or two sizes smaller than needle used to obtain gauge

Gauge
Blocked: 18 stitches and 26 rounds = 4”/10 cm square in stockinette stitch using larger needles.
Unblocked: 20 stitches and 25 rounds = 4”/10 cm square in stockinette stitch using larger needles.

For best results when working with hand dyed yarns, we strongly suggest alternating skeins of the same color throughout your project.
