NONE OF MY OWN hat uses one of those stitch patterns that employs simple stitches to develop a complex look. Personally, I love them the most because they are not stressful for a casual knitter yet keep them engaged and ultimately give a desirable finished item. And this one is completely reversible too!

As for the name of the hat, here are some excerpts from Alice in Wonderland, if you will.
“Take off your hat,“ the King said to the Hatter.
“It isn’t mine,” said the Hatter.
“Stolen!” the King exclaimed, turning to the jury, who instantly made a memorandum of the fact.
“I keep them to sell,” the Hatter added as an explanation; “I’ve none of my own. I’m a hatter.”

The idea of Mad Hatter being surrounded by so many hats, yet not owning them is something that stuck with me. Hence the name.
