The Nootka rose is native to the Pacific Northwest, and the simple lace flowers scattered across this reversible garter stitch triangle remind me of its blossoms and give the shawl a vintage charm.

It begins at the bottom point, and the easy-to-memorize lace repeats every 12 rows. Since the ending can be started after any repeat, it is easy to customize the size. An eyelet border and elastic cast-off create a wider top edge for a flattering fit.
Designed for lace yarns, it also can be knit in a variety of fingering and Shetland/sport/DK weights.

For the beaded version, beads were added on Beginning Row 19 at the center stitch in the k3, and on the Repeat Row 7, again on the center stitch of the k3.
