Inspired by fishermen’s sweaters, this jumper by Isabell Kraemer has a modern, relaxed look. It uses an attractive array of stitch patterns on the front, worked in a lovely yarn from Baa Ram Ewe. Dovestone DK blends wool from Bluefaced Leicester, Wensleydale and Masham sheep; it feels soft and bouncy, and comes in a range of gorgeous colours inspired by Yorkshire.

Norderney is worked seamlessly from the top down. Knitting starts from a provisional cast-on at the shoulders. Short rows are used to shape the shoulders, then each part is joined to work the back down to the underarm. Stitches are then picked up at the shoulders to work each front. The work is then joined at the underarm and worked in the round to the hem. Sleeve stitches are picked up around each armhole and sleeves are worked from the top down in the round to the doubled cuffs. The neck finishing is worked last.
