It is not crucial that you get exactly my gauge for this project. But, remember – tight gauges are best for avoiding any stuffing leaks. What matters most is that you’re happy with your fabric and that you keep your gauge consistent across multiple eggs, especially if you plan to “Put all of your eggs in one basket!”

NOTIONS:
Wool or polyester batting, to stuff the egg. Wool is wonderful, and it makes a nice, firm stuffing, especially for eggs that are meant to be decorative keepsakes. But, the egg shown is destined to be caressed by sticky little, chocolate-covered fingers…and probably a paw or two. So, I filled it with common polyester batting, which will wash and dry easily. It works just fine!

Tapestry needle(s) For closing the stuffing hole and tucking in loose ends.*
