North Isle Gansey Poncho II
Ganseys, or Guernseys are the traditional hand-knitted pullovers worn by the fishermen of the British Isles. The patterns themselves are easy enough to knit, consisting of knits, purls and cable stitches - but there is endless beauty and visual complexity in the infinite ways these stitches can be worked in combination.
This pattern is an update from the North Isle Gansey Poncho, as it is a shorter poncho, using a different yarn.
It is worked from the bottom to top in one long rectangle, then folded in half to form the final shape. A three-needle bind off is used to join the front and the back of the poncho.
Enjoy!
