This shawlette is knit from the bottom up, with the triangle shape formed by increases at the beginning and end of right-side rows. A Shetland diamond/leaf stitch pattern and an Estonian diamond/leaf motif are featured. A pink agate pendant from Colombia has been added to the bottom point in this sample.

I used nearly one full skein of Hedgehog Fibres Kidsilk Lace in the colorway Potluck. Although this is a one-off colorway, there are many options in the red-russet range that would be suitable.

The body is knit with US3/3.25mm needles and the larger size needle is used for a loose bind-off - which is across the topline.

Feb. 2024: I’ve just knit another sample of this pattern - this time with Rowan Kidsilk Haze Colour (70% Mohair; 30% Silk) in shade #2. Perhaps it should now be called Northern Diamonds rather than Northern Leaves given the semi-solid icy blue tones.
