Northern Seas Hat & Mitts
The pattern of colorwork on this hat and mitts is a traditional one from Gotland, an island in the Baltic Sea that is part of Sweden. The patterning of this set has a look of waves because of the tessellation, but on Gotland it is known as a fish-hook pattern.
The pictured version of the hat is slightly slouchy, but instructions are also given for a version that will fit more like a beanie.
The hat and mitts can be made from 2 skeins of worsted weight yarn, the hat uses 60% of the skeins and the mitts the remainder.
