Size: Finished size is 18” and fits a youth-adult size 20-22” head circumference.

Yarn: 1 Skein of Dyed in the Wool 100 yards, Spincycle Yarns, 100% American Wool Superwashed sport weight (Asteria color way), and
1 Skein Private Label Sport 200 yards, 100% American Wool sport weight (Gray.)

Tools: US 7 & 8, 16” circular or double pointed needles. If using circulars when decreasing, as the yarn starts to feel too snug, switch to the magic loop method or double pointed needles. Other tools needed are a stitch marker, tape measure and tapestry needle.

-This beanie is worked in one piece in the round, bottom-up construction.

-The German Twisted cast on method was used in this pattern, but any stretchy cast on will work such a tubular or long-tail.

-For best results, use a variegated or gradient color way for the contrasting color. If the yarn isn’t changing colors as quickly as desired, cut the yarn and unwind to a point where the color is beginning to transition when you begin the next set of stranded knit rows.

-This pattern uses the two-color stranded knitting technique carrying the contrasting color (CC) in the left hand (or carrying the CC below the MC on the wrong side) making the contrasting color the more dominant color way.
