These mittens are based on traditional Norwegian lice stitch sweaters. Typically knit in natural colored wool contrasted with navy, red, or dark green, this more “manly” style will appeal to a wide range of wearers. Length may be added, and the width may be adjusted in multiples of 8. One 4 stitch repeat on the front and back will add about 1.25” (3 cm) to the circumference.

The chart uses the MC and CC used in the sample. We have also included a chart using a symbol in place of the CC. If your colors differ, you may elect to color in the alternate chart with the colors you are using.

There should be plenty of yardage left over to knit a second pair of mittens by reversing the MC and CC used.
