The pattern has instructions for both cuff down and toe up socks and is written for magic loop, but can easily be modified for double pointed needles.

The toe up version uses a German short row heel turn and heel flap. The cuff down version uses a Strong Heel which looks similar to the toe up version. Both heels are knitted without picking up stitches.

Yarn

100 g of fingering weight yarn, app. 420 m/ 460 per 100g. The sample socks were knitted with Filcolana Arwetta Classic (80% Wool, 20% Nylon) in colourway 136 Mustard, 210 m/ 230 yds per 50g.
