Nymphaea is a humble little circular with water droplets sprinkled around on the surface. This shawl is inspired by the humble lily pad; always overshadowed by the showy water lily flowers.

Construction notes
This shawl is knit from the top down. The pattern is designed to work with self striping yarns such as Sausalito from Crystal Palace. The eyelet rows are placed so they line up with the color changes, each one dividing one block of color from the next. The colors in sausalito shift subtly, changing one ply at a time. Thus you can add eyelets on each subtle shift, or only when there are major color changes.

The pattern is written for two sizes, the little shawlette is shown here, a fourth skein will make a larger shawl. You could add more skeins if desired. For these sizes you’ll need 10-15% of the last skein for the edging, if you make an even larger shawl you’ll need a larger percent of that last skein to complete the ruffles.
