Oh, the love I have for the humble, plain sock. Simple socks are the true workhorse among all the knitted items: they keep our feet warm and happy no matter the weather, and you will always need a pair.
For the Oak Socks I have gathered all the good things a simple everyday sock needs: a good fit, a good range of sizes that are easy to alter and a yarn that feels as good as it looks.
MATERIALS
Yarn: 1 (1, 1) skein of Earth by Life in the Long Grass, colorway Barn as MC, and 1 (1, 1) mini skein of Merino 4ply by Botanical Yarn, colorway Pampas Grass as CC. Approx. 380 (420) yards / 350 (385) meters of fingering weight yarn in MC and 30 (50) yards / 27 (45) meters of fingering weight yarn in CC.
Needles: US 1½ (2.5 mm) and US 0 (2 mm) dpns or circular needles, if you are using magic loop technique for small circumference knitting.
