After 3 years, it was time to design a new Fine Shetland lace bauble.
This time with 2 heritage patterns: cockle shell and old shale.
The bauble cover is knit in the round, a link to the tutorial I made for the cast on is (also) in the pdf.
I recommend the 2,5mm needle and 10” circumference bauble, so it is not too fine. But if you really want…
This was made possible by my outstanding team of testknitters;
debbieknits5000 (Debbie Chisholm), Irinashaar and woolly-oolly MoniqueD
Yarn: Jamieson and Smith 1ply Supreme (400m/25gr) ~35 m or 40y. In 1 colour, 4 or 5 dyed or natural. Or handspun!
Needles: 2,5mm or US1 ½
Also: a bauble with a circumference of 25cm or 10” approx. A tapestry needle to pull through yarn and weave in ends.
A bit of patience for casting on. If you like, you can watch a tutorial I made. A little support to get going with the first few rows.
