INFO
Just as wild waves melt into calm ripples, no two days are ever the same when walking the coastline. The stone piers peek from underneath the water at low tide but give hint to a stormy beach during high tide.

These elements of nature inspire me everyday.

’Ocean Stones’ has an asymmetrical but nearly triangular shape with a built-in edge and is worked flat from the right tip to the left edge. The pattern is fully written out with stitch counts, a schematic and includes a chart for the cable repeats.

YARN
Blacker Swan DK (Falkland Island Merino with Shetland, 50 gr-119yds/110m). Sample yardage, 890yds/814 m in color Pale Maiden, 8 balls.

Or any DK weight yarn: approx. 886-930yds (810-850m).

MATERIALS
32-40” (minimum 80-100 cm) circular or straight needles.
US 7 (4.5 mm)
US 6 (4.0 mm)
Stitch markers, cable needle, tapestry needle.

GAUGE - BLOCKED 4” (10 CM)
In stockinette stitch pattern, 15 stitches x 24 rows.
Gauge is not crucial at all, but will affect final size and yardage.

FINISHED DIMENSIONS
Approx. 79” (200 cm) wingspan along top edge x 30“ (75 cm) width.

ADJUSTMENTS
Different sizes and fits can also be achieved by altering yarn weight and/or needle size(s). The shawl will be equally pretty in a Sport or Worsted weight yarn.
