Octagon Baby Blanket
This traditional crocheted Octagon Baby Blanket stitched in five harmonizing shades of Simply Soft® has a lovely personal touch. Designer Marilyn Losee engineered the pattern beautifully, then added a lovely bit of easy embroidery in the center of the design.
Skill Level: Intermediate
Materials
Simply Soft (170 g/6. oz;288 m/315 yds)
5 colors, 1 skein each:
#9701 white (A), #9719 soft pink (B), #9722 plum wine (C), #9717 orchid (D) and #9943 lavender blue (E)
Size H/8/5mm crochet hook or size to obtain gauge
Schematics for embroidery are provided.
From the pattern:
Each round of the blanket consists of eight groups of double crochet stitches, separated by corner chain-spaces. In most rounds, increases are worked in the corners. In some rounds, decreases are worked to maintain the stitch count and prevent the blanket from flaring too much.
